How to Journalise with a Hammer

Maintaining cheerfulness in the midst of a gloomy affair, fraught with immeasurable responsibility, is no small feat; and yet what is needed more than cheerfulness?” (The Twilight of the Idols) So wrote Nietzsche in September 1888 in a small room on the top floor of Via Carlo Alberto 6, Turin Italy, 118 years before the 2006 Winter Olympics, and 121 years before The Faux Journalist was born into the jungle of a trillion blogs. “A revaluation of all values”, where there are more blogs than there are realities, The Faux Journalist, an old psychologist and pied piper of the cyber spirit world.

The Faux

Growing up in rural Victoria, Doyle’s childhood was steeped in country values and the strong bonds of community, concern for your fellow citizens, a friendly wink and smile to your neighbour, a laugh with a stranger.

Doyle studied public relations with a view to a career in the media, but found himself half way through a thesis on the ‘Powder or Liquid: The Ethics of Washing Detergent Branding’, and realised his rural
soul could not be chained to the corporate world. The world of travel was calling.

In his 20’s he spent some time on a Kibbutz in Northern Israel, where his country spirit found comfort in their communal values. Then Israel launched the pounding Operations Grapes of Wrath against Lebanon and all sense of brotherly love in Doyle was shattered into a million pieces like a childs scooter under an Isreali rocket attack.

leaving the warm soft bosomy confines of Melbourne 4 years ago in a last vain attempt to discover the inner go-getter Doyle moved to Sydney to seek fame and fortune finding only the deflating confines of a customer complaints department, inflated prices and dilapidated housing in inner western Sydney.

In Sydney no one can hear you scream, well they can hear you they just chose to ignore you
